Kucinich vs. Voinovich??
Note: I am not implying that Kucinich should drop out of the presidential race, even though Im a Dean supporter.

However, what do people think his chances would be against OH Senator George Voinovich if he were to run for senate? Kucinich is a guy who I'd like to see in the senate if not the White House. He could be the next Wellstone.

1. Very hard for him to win
Ohio's been trending more and more Republican, and Voinovich is from Cleveland, so he would cut down his margin in that area. If Kucinich had Howard Metzenbaum's money he might have a shot. But even Metzenbaum would have a tough time getting elected in today's Ohio.

2. he'd be great in the Senate
I'm a Dean supporter as well, but I do admire DK. I think his odds of being elected to national office are mighty slim, but he could be quite formidable in his home state and if the Dem nomination for Prez doesn't pan out for him, I've love to see him launch a populist campaign to take out Voinovich.

3. Seriously....
we need people like him in the senate...

Its just my personal opinion that its hard to go from campaigning in a congressional district to campaigning nationally. If Kucinich were Senator Kucinich and not Rep. Kucinich, I might give him more consideration for president. I think a person should win a statewide race (or be a Cong. leader, like Gephardt) before running for president.

4. Go Dennis Go
Kucinich would be a FAR better choice than Springer. Kucinich's chances at getting a senate seat are much higher than winning the presidency - he could be more effective in the Senate too. I hope he decides to do this.

5. Grudge Match! Voinovich took the mayoralty away from Kucinich
That put an early end to Dennis' political career (only to rise again in the next decade). Remember this was after the Muni Light Fight when The Illuminating Company tried to snatch up the city-owned Municipal Light Company.

7. facing the facts
lets face it. Kucinich has a great ideology, but is completely uncharismatic. When I listen to the guy speak, i find myself subconciously associating him with a block of granite. As much as I respect him, his chances of making it in the political world are zilch.

Peace(even if you disagree.)!

8. You Dean people are desperate
Kucinich is going to be the next President because, unlke some other candidates, he is a real Democrat and he has what America most needs.

10. Slim and none in defeating Voinovich.
As a Buckeye, I truly do not believe that Kucinich would or could defeat Voinovich. Why? Kucinich does not have the charisma to be elected to the senate in my opinion.
