Justice Executed, Texas-Style
A disturbing article in the July-August issue of the Atlantic Monthly suggests that the former Gov. Bush and his legal counsel, Alberto R. Gonzales, exhibited a shocking lack of interest in the facts of execution cases that came before them

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A59239-2003Jul28.html

After reading article, . . . , it's hard not to conclude that both Gonzales and Bush were rather callous, even cavalier, about the most profound decision any government official can make -- the decision to kill another human being.

We might get Alberto Gonzales on the Supreme Court.

As for Bush, does he take anything seriously, executions, war, economy, jobs, international relations?
Yes he does, fundraising and cutting taxes!

1. Mr. Bush is cavalier about death, period.......
in fact, I think he enjoys people dying, if he devotes any time at all to thinking about it, which I doubt.

2. Once again we see that Bush is innocent...
...of any wrong doing. He was mislead and lied to by those trusted counselors around him. It isn't his fault. They are the ones that lied. Not Bush. George is a good, just, caring...*mumph*...pardon me....

:puke:

Sorry about that.

3. Wow! This looks familier.
<snip>
But a White House spokesman referred me to Pete Wassdorf, Gonzales' former deputy counsel, who has written a letter to the editor of the Atlantic, attacking the article as "inaccurate and incomplete" and Berlow as a liberal anti-death-penalty zealot.

"Mr. Berlow's advocacy piece is more at home in his usual places of publication," Wassdorf wrote, such as "Salon.com, which is mostly regarded as a cartoon solely dedicated to Bush Bashing."

<snip>

We are all just so mean and horrible to poor George. We just hate him and would not treat him fair if he saved a kitten from a tree. We'd even make fun of him for wearing a Fireman costume, I mean uniform, when he did it even though he used to be a volunteer fireman you know. Even went into the World Trade Center. He's a hero damnit!
