1. What We Want
We want a candidate who will address questions of global economic imbalance and stand up for the rights of immigrants.

We want a candidate who will challenge racism domestically and internationally.

We want a candidate who will stop the war on the poor.

4. Highly misleading site
Here is just one example of many I could have used.

On gay rights:

Kucinich

Believes gay and straight couples should be 100% equal before the law, including Social Security and domestic-partner benefits; supports federal civil union legislation

Dean

Signed a civil union (not gay marriage) bill, but opposes similar national laws as a states' rights issue

He is mileading on Kucinich and out and out lying on Dean. Kucinich used to oppose gay marriage (he campaigned in 96 supporting DOMA). To leave that out is just plain misleading.

He is lying on Dean. Dean favors making states recognize gay and straight relationships in an equal manner but leaves it up to them as to what to call them. He said exactly that on both MTP and at the HRC forum. It is also in his questionaire that he answered for the HRC. www.hrc.org I hope he does better as a journalist.

nothing to see here... keep moving along...

the link gets thrown up here seemingly every week, and it is clearly biased against Dean.

6. This is an excellent comparison
It kind of puts it to the reader to decide what kind of candidate they want. If someone likes military spending and opposes medical marijuana and wants to be surprised by anti-choice appointments, then Dean is their man.

9. surprise!
You put on the same spin as the 'comparison' does. Good work!

According to this site, Dean's stance on health care:
Complex 4-prong plan, extending multiple state and federal programs piecemeal, combined with tax credits and incentives, all of which Dean claims is more likely to become law, but still won't cover everyone

Dean's priority is to cover all children first (as he succussfully did in Vermont, with 99% of children eligable and 96% covered, with 92% of adults covered) http://www.deanforamerica.com/site/PageServer?pagename=policy_statement_health This comparison also neglects to say that Dean started a great program called Success by Six in VT where 9/10 parents of newborns get home visits regardless of income, and "Thanks to Success by Six, we've cut our state's child abuse rate nearly in half, and child sexual abuse of kids under 6 is down by 70%." http://www.deanforamerica.com/site/PageServer?pagename=policy_statement_health

Regarding Kyoto:
Says we must "take another look," but has "concerns" about some provisions

Under Dean's plan, 20 percent of the nation's electricity supply would have to come from renewable sources such as wind and solar power by 2020. He also would elevate the Environmental Protection Agency to Cabinet level and would insist that the United States participate in international environmental agreements, such as the Kyoto global warming treaty. http://wvgazette.com/section/APNews/News/ap0784n

Regarding medicinal marijuana:
Firmly opposed, although promises to abide by a proposed FDA evaluation
That is part of the truth, the rest of the story is that he doesn't in any way believe in the incarceration for MJ drug use.

Also, this comparison leaves out a very important issue: education. Dean is smart enough to realize that NCLB isn't only bad because it's unfunded, but it's a stupid law that needs total replacement.

11. No reduction in "defense" spending either, from Dean.
Offensive weapons-systems are eating up a HUGE portion of our national budget.

12. I guess we can call Dean the anti-peace candidate
His only peace stance was calling for a 60 day delay in a war.

13. This is a very good and educational comparison!
I'm suprised Dean is running for the Democratic ticket, not the Republican ticket.

as time goes on.

Maybe at some point we can get back to issues...

All I ask is that you attack my candidate (Gov. Dean) with facts, not rhetoric.
