Marine Engineers Beneficial Association (MEBA) Endorses Gephardt for President

17 International Labor Unions Support Campaign

Washington, DC – The Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association, AFL-CIO (MEBA) today became the seventeenth international labor union to endorse Dick Gephardt's campaign for the presidency.

"Dick Gephardt's twenty-six year track record in Congress, his consistent advocacy for sensible policies for ordinary Americans, and his work experience and commitment to the labor movement are to be applauded," said MEBA President Ron Davis. "Time and again he has stood for working men and women in the maritime community and recognized the valuable role unions and the merchant marine play in our nation's economy and defense. MEBA is proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Dick Gephardt – an experienced and dedicated leader with a bold agenda to create jobs and guarantee health insurance to every American."
