1. At least Gephardt's better than Dean
I've met Gephardt. I was a little disappointed in some of his votes. But he did oppose Homeland Security and he is okay on most issues.

3. YUCK! Gephardt?
I had disgusting Anti-Dean, Kerry, Edwards in my mail in Iowa from Gephardt. This guy is providing material for the Right in the general election. The man is desparate and he is angering many people here. Iowa is still a bit of a swing state and few will knock doors if he is the nominee unless he stops spreading lies. Be nice. Focus on the goal Dick. You were a good man. Return to your principles and STOP ATTACKING GOOD DEMOCRATS!

4. I am very sorry to hear this. I have heard Gephardt in interviews
on a few of the major news shows, lately, as well as in the debates. I really liked what he had to say and the confidence and conviction with which he was saying it. The only one that I heard him criticize was George Bush*, and very vehemently, at that. I thought it was about time one of the major candidates went after Bush*, though Kerry gave an excellent speech in front of the VFW in which he criticized Bush* and spoke of his war record. Gephardt served in the military, as well, I believe.

7. I was sure that I had heard him mention this. I knew Kerry served
in Vietnam, but wasn't sure of the details about Gephardt. Yes, you know I could support him easily, as can you, John.:hi:

16. ok thanks doc
Interesting the candiate many view as a pacifist aka Dennis Kucinich was quite disappointed that he couldnt serve due to a heart condition, two of his brothers were in Vietnam and their father was a veteran of WWII. I know the congressman has the highest respect for those who served.

10. He is in competition with these guys for our votes!
Gosh, if he doesn't say anything he gets slammed for being boring. If he fights for his place he gets slammed for doing that too. Howard Dean is being touted for all of the yelling he's doing. It's not all against the Repubs. He does his fair share of slamming Gep and the others for voting for the war resolution. If the candidates don't point out the things they don't like in the other candidates how are they supposed to campaign. They really all have the same platform. The only thing thay can do is make themselves look like the better Dem and that's what's happening!

14. Gephardt is tough
so is Kerry. They're the two hardest competitors in the race, imo.

I'm almost afraid of Dean fading, because it would mean Gep and Kerry would be the race, and that has the potential for real ugliness.

But at some point one person is going to be going against Bush, and that's not going to be fun for Bush. :-)

20. Franken has offerred to campaign for all the candidates
I was a volunteer at Dean's NYC event at which Franken spoke.

his speech wasn't so much pro-Dean as it was anti-Bush.

I expect he'll give the same type of speech at the Gephardt fundraiser.

Great for Al Franken to support a candidate who doesn't seem that hip right now.

18. Thanks Al!!
Looks like he's trying to support the entire Democratic Party. I think that's great, it shows he respects the process and wants the voters to decide.

19. I agree. Al can be depended on to say the perfect thing
for most any occasion and to come through in a pinch. He's doing a great job getting the word out about the serial lying that is taking place in this country. Here's to Al!:toast:
