Different jobs. Different candidates. But the three have something in common: each hails from or worked in the Carolinas. While Democrat John Edwards is the only Carolinian actually running for president, at least a score of people with Carolinas ties have top roles in presidential campaigns.

Many are young. Most are passionate. Some carry longer political resumes than their bosses.
