My Dean Conversation at the local ice cream shop
I took my kids out this afternoon for ice cream and I wore my Dean T-shirt (my kids aren't old enough yet to realize what a nerd their dad is).

As I was in line for ice cream, a woman ahead of me turned around and said she liked my shirt (this is a common response I get when I wear it). She told me that she's with the local library and that she and the staff there are all complaining about Bush and eager to support someone that will bring him down. I told her about the Meetup I've started and invited her to attend the next one in October. She was very enthusiasistic about it and said she'd tell her co-workers about it as well. :-)

I did ask her about the Patriot Act and whether they've had any FBI agents snooping around the library. She said there haven't been so far, and that the staff often like to put a sign up at the desk that says: "No FBI Agents Have Visited Us Today."

2. It's Not "Nerdy" to care about your Country so much that you
work hard to "Take it Back" from the murdering thugs who stole it!

Librarians and Teachers are at the heart of our Country and can see what this maladministration is doing to it ..first hand.

I hope your chance meeting today gets them to your next Dean Meetup!

3. I'm not ashamed to wear to be a nerd...
I was just imagining my kids as early teens being terribly embarrassed by me and my "uncool" political enthusiasms...

You know how kids are at "that age." I hope when they get older they'll look back and see just how worthwhile my efforts were...
