Dean helps (Vermont) state Senate Dems
It seems that even though they tussled, someone has been lying to us about how much Vermont Democrats hate Dean. Take a look:

http://www.benningtonbanner.com/Stories/0,1413,104~8678~1636923,00.html

<snip>
Dean has been tagged the liberal of the nine-person Democratic field despite his reputation in Vermont as a centrist.
...
Many of the Democrats who will be benefiting from the fund-raiser are the same people with whom Dean had an often prickly relationship during his nearly 12 years as governor.
...
And since Dean has taken to the presidential campaign trail, the Democrats in his home state have been his biggest supporters.

"It's quite reassuring for those of us who worked with Howard over the years that even as he's in the midst of this extraordinary campaign, he has time to remember his friends and be generous with his friends," Welch said.

1. And the hits just keep on coming!
Over and over this man stands up and does the right thing. I keep thinking the string of great moves from this man cant continue. I continue to be wrong. It tickles me pink!

Go Howard!

2. The criticism of Dean coming from Vermont isn't coming from Democrats
It's coming from Greens, Vermont's Progressive Party (NOT Progressive Democrats, mind you), Socialists and Communists. When you read articles posted on here that says "Vermont liberals" or "Vermont Progressives" are critical of Dean, you need to keep in mind that the articles are NOT written by liberal Democrats or progressive Democrats. They are coming from a pretty radically left political standpoint AND parties that are in competition with the Democratic Party, and also quite damaging to the Democratic Party.

3. exactly
and I appreciate your on-the-spot look from Vermont!

A "centrist" from Vermont is a damn sight better in my view than a "liberal" from many other states.
