Edwards: Glad that Saddam is gone
U.S. Sen. John Edwards on Thursday reaffirmed his support for the war with Iraq while criticizing President Bush's faulty intelligence claim about the country in his State of the Union.
"I stand by my position that it's a good thing Saddam Hussein is gone," said Edwards, a North Carolina Democrat angling for the White House. "He was a brutal, sadistic dictator." Edwards made his comments during his weekly meeting with visiting constituents known as "Tar Heel Thursday."

During the same town-hall-style forum, Edwards said he believes Bush needs to take responsibility for alleging that Iraq was seeking nuclear material from Africa during his State of the Union.

"I think the president is responsible for what the president says," Edwards said.

3. Saddam is gone?
I thought he just released another tape.

"Out of Dodge" may be good enough for Shrub and Edwards, but I'm not sure it's making a big difference for our troops on the ground. Where is Tikrit again?

4. Glad?
As if Iraq is better off without him. Well, they aren't! I guess Edwards enjoys the suffering of people that aren't white.

5. See, this is why he isn't going to win the nomination
If you want the republican message on the war in Iraq, just vote republican.

It's extremely selfish to be glad SH is gone. Sure, it's probably better for us and Israel, but how have the Iraqis "benefitted"? Thousands dead, thousands dying, and basic services eliminated.
