Bush re-elect at 43% in Wisconsin/ 50% want someone else
A new Badger poll of Wisconsin indicates that 43% of statewide voters are inclined to elect Bush in 2004 as compared to 50% who want someone else. 7% are undecideds and usually undecideds break 2-1 against an incumbent.

In May, 2003 Bush had a 53-42 re-elect number.

This is crucial because in 2000 Wisconsin was very close with Gore and Bush each getting about 48%--and Gore edging Bush by only 5,000 votes.

2. Excellent!
If more liberal swing states such as Wisconsin are heading towards us, then we can concentrate on the more conservative swing states such as Ohio.

5. Yes, this is a real boost
I knew Gore won Wisconsin in 2000 but I didn't realize it was that close.

Nader got about 100,000 votes which made the state closer than expected.

7. Excellent news from a swing state!
Wisconsin is a middle-of-the-road state, judging from the razor-thin margin in 2000. Even withtout Nader, it still would've been very close. So, it's very good news to see his numbers drop there.

10. Excellent news
I expect that turnout will be even higher in Wisconsin in 2004 than 2000 because Feingold is running for reelection.
