Dean to air political ads in Six States
In a show of political strength, Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean plans to spend $1 million airing television ads in six early primary states. The former Vermont Governor, who is the first candidate to advertise in Iowa, New Hampshire, and Texas, will begin airing ads Friday in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Washington state, and Wisconsin.

1. Gheezee.....
When is he going to storm Ohio? I'm getting a sore throat.....Got to keep introducing him....Thats okay, thats my conviction but I'd appreciate a little media splurge to break the ice.

I spread the word daily; telephone operator, cashiers, cops, co-workers....just talked to the Fed-X guy in nice shorts too! :bounce:

2. Sound like a good ad - and a good plan!
Howard Dean...raised the bar for third-quarter fund raising to $10.3 million and announced it would run television ads in six states starting this week....He said the last Democrat to raise that much in a single quarter in an off year was Bill Clinton in 1995, when he was president.....Trippi said the campaign would begin running television spots in selected markets in Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Washington state and Wisconsin on Friday. He expected the cost to be about $1 million.

The ad, which will run for two weeks, takes aim at Bush's tax cut as well as the invasion of Iraq and the Democrats who backed it. "I opposed the war with Iraq when too many Democrats supported it because I want a foreign policy consistent with American values," Dean says.

Democratic rivals for the nomination who voted in favor of the U.S.-led attack to oust Saddam Hussein believe Dean's anti-war rhetoric makes him too dovish for an electorate that largely supported the war.Dean dismissed the criticism as carping from opponents who "are so darned scared that I'm going to beat them."

"I created jobs as governor, balanced budgets, and made sure every child in my state has health insurance," Dean says in the ad. "As president, I'll make sure every American does, too."

4. this is an interesting move

by advertising in texas and other states that don't hold immediate significance, he gets media attention because its so unorthodox. its like the campaign is flexing its muscles to try and intimidate the others out. dean isn't my first choice, but as a lover of all things political, this is an incredible move. the advertising fires up the base, and in turn makes him look like a more credible candidate. that brings in more money. the plan's easily gonna pay for itself. still not sure about him winning the general, but his campaign is revolutionary. major props.
