It seems to me that Congressional Democrats are putting more energy and effort into
attacking and censuring Cong. Wilson than they do in working on progressive improvement to our laws.

If only they would fight as hard for healthcare reform or an end to the wars or any of a million issues that actually mean something.

Wilson does deserve condemnation, but to spend any time on this is just pissing with the wind because they think most people support their side of this "issue."

Better to have issued a simple statement and moved back to real issues. At least it keeps them in front of the cameras.

1. I haven't see this distraction of which you speak...
Except for those who are concerned about this unseen-distraction, that is.

2. Attacking Cong. Wilson? Attacking???
You're shitting me. What he did was unconscionable, beyond all decency. He absolutely should apologize to the House for disgracing that body.

And they DO fight this hard for health care, you just don't pay attention.

3. It doesn't have to be either/or. Many Congressional Dems ARE putting a lot
of energy and effort into doing what we elected them to do.

I hope they don't stop beating this drum -- We roar in outrage, then quiet down, whereas they wouldn't let this go until it was a bloody, dead carcass. I think it's time we gave tit for tat.

4. I agree. how much effort does it take to call a vote. It is now
over a week since the incident.

5. Agree, time to relax
I'm afraid that with all the name-calling and distractions going on inside and outside of the party we're getting sidetracked. That's just what opponents of this historic effort want.

Everyone, let's keep our eyes on the ball.

When the President spoke before Congress, he offered some examples of why we need to move forward and specifically talked about a man who died because he lost his insurance coverage in the middle of chemotherapy.

Some alert people put together a mashup of those words with a song by Colin Gawel called "Chemotherapy". I think this video makes a powerful statement about why we need healthcare reform.
