The speech about HC reform last night...
Mr. Obama gave an outstanding speech about health care reform principles and the consequences if we do nothing. His well-expressed dialog focus on the many problems we face as a divided nation including all the misinformation. Truly his speech was quite inspirational, filled with historic facts and the essential elements that must be part of the overall bill. We as a nation whose medical care history comparatively speaking on a global level, is lacking. His presentation etched with passion conveyed an urgency for partnership with the republican base but looking at the body language of them GOP-errs, I don’t expect much from them idiots. It will be interesting to see how the blue doggies react.

South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson is a dormouse dork, what a jerk. An act of contrition with a classic repub qualifier is unacceptable especially where it occurred. Had a Democrat did this, the GOPers would had every radio station including repub nation go into overtime to sob hysterically.

The grand old party is truly pathetic, relics of yesteryears with the mindset of fire ants.

Memo to Democrats; It's time to be assertive and give America what it needs badly, Healthcare reform (with or without GOP help).

There's a lot to be said about being on the same page, ask the republicans.

1. I agree. We need health care reform.
We do not need pathetic "health insurance reform" that does little more than enrich the health insurance cabal at the expense of the struggling middle class. As such, I intend to write letters to any politician who will listen urging them to vote against the proposal laid out by the President last night. It stinks. It's so bad, in fact, that doing nothing is a superior alternative.

2. I disagree. As someone who has been denied coverage because of
a prior but RESOLVED health issue (and then told the denial was due to some nebulous nonsense about lack of information) even in a state where preexisting conditions are not allowed to be weighed in granting coverage, I was thrilled that a federal law could make all such denial illegal on a federal level. That ALONE is worth its weight in gold.

3. I know that you are someone who may actually benefit from current proposals.
And I fully agree that insurance company practices are problematic, specifically pre-existing condition exclusions, rescission, and lifetime caps.

But at what cost are we willing to get that? A massive Federal bail-out of the health insurance industry paid for through a new tax that falls heaviest on the struggling middle class? An individual mandate that will seriously hurt the Democratic Party and drive voters away in droves?

I am not willing to pay that price. I understand, however, why you would be willing to do so.

7. Needless to say, I prefer a single-payer system.
Ted Kennedy's 2007 "Medicare for All" bill, however, will do if we can't get HR 676 (my first choice).

The current system is unsustainable, and everyone knows it. Let's not settle for a bail-out of the health insurance industry. Let's insist on the near eradication of it.

I could not agree mOre with your comment, kudos.

It's a small wonder why most Americans are consider by some to be quite "stupid" when dealing with social issues.

I'm dumb-founded by the admin. actions regarding single-payer choice for Americans.

thanks for the thought provoking post.
