When Repubs challenged to prove how the Prez' speech to students was meant to brainwash them....
Edited on Tue Sep-08-09 03:04 PM by YewNork
they're replying that the speech he gave wasn't the one that he was originally going to give. They're saying that his original speech was going to be an ideology speech,
and it was through their protests that he was forced to change it to the speech he actually gave.

1. Maybe Obama set them up to be embarrassed by stupid behavior.
He succeeded! They were the fools.

6. This Michael Patrick Leahy that was on MSNBC
said exactly that. I can't believe they let that idiot on there.
Interesting that all the uproar may have made a lot of the kids pay more attention. Kids in school always like to get a break from the usual routine to watch about anything. All the protests may have had the opposite effect.
Projection on the part of the wing-nuts. They take every opportunity to indoctrinate kids and can't imagine Obama not doing the same.

7. Prove it
Can you prove that the President did not change his speech? The lesson plans that were to accompany the speech were certainly changed because of the backlash.

My main quibble with the speech is the curiously large incidence of the word "I" in it.

Also, the main concern from the Right was the DoE lesson plans that were circulated before the speech, where the students were told to write a letter explaining what they should do to help President Obama (you know, as opposed to the world, or humanity, or even America)
