Candidates claim election fraud in Mayberry.

True stories, from my weekly "Mayberry" newspaper....


Our town of about 9000 is adjoined by several other smaller towns.
Municipal election were held Oct. 7.

In one town, the loser of the mayoral race is suing the winner, over a 4 vote difference.
The vote was something like 1206 to 1202.
The candidate who is suing planned the suit , had someone filming each voter who entered the polling place, and hired a lawyer who claims " over 30 years experience in election suits".
Plaintiff ( the loser ) threatens to have each voter testify who they voted for.

Loser is white, winner is black.
The lawsuit would cost more than a year's mayoral salary in this teeny burg.

In another town, the voter registrar placed the portable voting booth next to the sign in table, and then sat on a high stool where she could clearly see the voting cards being marked.
The resulting protest was taken to the County Registrar who did not pursue the issue.

This is the first year I have heard of serious voting fraud in our county.
