Who is watching the baby during all this time? I'm guessing a nanny or has the pseudo-sister-mom taken up this chore? It seems that since the convention, the family has gone back to being just a family, dysfunctional as it is. And how come I haven't gotten my invite to the BIG wedding?
On a more serious note,Palin really paints an unfair picture of the "Mother who can have it all" idea...career, family, celebrity. The average mom has neither the resources or support to do this. Palin is the role model for the elite, not the more mainstream, female. She might represent what we wish we could have, but it's definitely not what most of us CAN have. I'm not at all impressed or in awe of her accomplishments. After all, she's left her children to pursue something that she could have put off until her kids were older. Palin doesn't HAVE to leave them because she doesn't HAVE to work..this is her choice. A lot of women make this choice, and that's ok. But don't hold them up as examples of the way things SHOULD be. So many other women struggle to care for their children while HAVING to work...at low paying jobs... without health care benefits...with no childcare provisions. They are the ones I'm impressed with. I'd have thought a lot more of Palin had she turned McCain down by saying "Thanks, but no thanks. I have young children at home who need me more than this country does right now. Tell the RNC to keep me on their list, but just please wait a few more years. I have a more important job to do."
