1. What really makes the right wingers mad is Barack Obama's poll numbers go UP with these issues
Obama's comments about 'clinging' did not have the negative effect the RW wanted it to have. It actually helped Obama and put his message in the forefront on every news outlet across the country.

It's called free advertising. The more the RW makes of this issue, the more free advertising Obama gets.

Keep in mind it was not Obama that said these things, but he gets the benefit of being in the news cycle.
