Ohio Gov.: Clinton Is More Electable
Political Players: Ted Strickland Defends His Candidate, Predicts Wins In Ohio, Texas And Pennsylvania

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/02/21/politics/politicalplayers/main3860646.shtml

Feb. 22, 2008

CBSNews.com: Governor, you must be disappointed with the fact that Senator Clinton has suffered through ten straight losses since February the 5th.

Ted Strickland: Well, of course, I would have preferred she had won those ten races. But I am pleased that the delegate count is fairly close. And I look forward to her potential wins in Texas, Ohio, and then Pennsylvania. And I think that will make her well-positioned to go the distance.

CBSNews.com: But she was the overwhelming favorite at the beginning of this race. She had so many assets at her disposal--and stratospheric poll numbers. What do you think went wrong?

Ted Strickland: Well, first of all, I think Barack Obama is a superb candidate. And he has had all the resources he could possibly need to compete. But I also think that Hillary Clinton never expected to walk away with the nomination without a fight...

1. Hmm..
I think he may have a point. I just have this feeling that Obama will be dashed with scandals and swift boated to death by the GOP in the fall. I have this bad feeling that i'll wake up on November 5th and it will be 286-252 McCain with nothing changed from last time.

Oh god...the shear thought of it makes me want to curl up in a ball...or move to Canada.

2. Think about it..
Obama won't win Georgia. He won't win South Carolina. He won't win Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, or any of the plains states. White Republicans and Independants won't vote for him.

I just have an eery feeling that we will have the same electoral map in 2008 as we did in 2004 and we'll all be thinking, "Damn, maybe we should have nominated Hillary..."

Either way, I just hope we aren't making the wrong decision.

5. I am not sure about that
Seems like a lot of Independents are voting for him in the primaries. I also do not think he needs to carry any of the states you listed in order to win in the general election. If we can pick up some combination of winnable states Bush won in 04 - West Virginia, Virginia, Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa, Ohio or Missouri things are looking very good.

Also, I do not think Hillary would change the dynamic in any of the states you listed.

9. You're completely and totally wrong.
You think Hillary will win more states than Obama? She's already written off 35 states, and is running on the same "Blue states plus one" strategy that FAILED for Gore and Kerry. And yes, white people WILL vote for Obama, unless you think that Kansas and Maine suddenly grew a massive black population overnight. Moreover, exit polls show that Obama draws more independents than any other candidate, including McCain, who has a reputation for attracting independents.

3. a French friend of mine says Barack
is the American version of Segolene Royal, a candidate who was long on inspiration and short on specifics who got the nomination of her Party only to be whupped in the general by Sarkozy, a man no one liked -- or even likes now, for that matter --, but who everyone believed at least knew what he would be doing once in office.

8. Hahahahaha right.
"More electable" when she motivates every single member of the Flying Monkey Right to get out and vote.

Even Rachel Maddow, who's a VERY Clinton-friendly commentator, mentioned last night that she keeps hearing from right-wingers that Hillary Clinton is their ONLY hope for keeping the White House in November.
