A Democratic Blueprint to Cap the Republicans in 2004
Sharpen the contrast and change the vision.

Republican forign policy and energy policy are bound together. It's all about oil. And oil requires unending war, pollution, and escalating costs as the scacity increases.

Democrats need to present a different vision of the future to America. One that presents the restructuring of our economy based on renewable/alternative energy. A decentralized power economy that puts people back to work, creates a technology challenge to America; no different than Kennedys challenge to put a man on the moon in a decade.

Homegrown energy will make us more secure and keep us from shedding American blood to make profits for the very few.

Republicans = Oil = War = No future
Democrats = Decentralized/Renewable/Alternative Power = Security = Jobs

This is the vision that all Democrats have to embrace and scrap, rather than tweak, the Republican vision of our future.

1. absolutely correct
and I might add a jobs program for the millions of displaced workers in all parts of this country, Bushco's jobless recovery is the keen edge of the gillotine that will lop off the the head of the monster.

3. YES

This is the one issue that while maybe not a top flight issue with the voters, details what a inherently corrupt bordering on corporate-fascist state the Bush gang is promoting.

If they are this dirty when it comes to the environment and energy policy, then how we can assume they aren't dirty on tax cuts, farm subsidies, military-industry, etc., etc.

Expose them as the rats they are and then round them up, and heard them out of town.

4. If there is one over riding theme for the 2004 campaign
as a "us vs. them" issue, I hope this is the one.

We are stagnating under a tired, old Republican/Corporate oligarchy. This administration is a simple rehash of Bush1, 10 years later. Reagan-Bush brought us "Morning in America"....Bush Jr. is ramming "Evening in America" down our collective throats.

We can change the paradigm, but it will take a united Democratic vision that says we are going to go "cold turkey" on this national oil addiction.

It's all about our kids future here....
