Kids 4 Kucinich in Santa Ana.
Some of the best presenters in Santa Ana were children. A number of children participated in the Weapons of Mass Destruction Presentation.

Two children, a 12 year old girl and a 14 year old boy gave copies of a poetry and a comic book the girl had written and the boy had illustrated to individuals donating to Dennis's campaign. They collected $120.00 on behalf of Dennis.

The 12 year old girl gave an awesome presentation, completely from memory, on behalf of Dennis. The audience seemed to love her. She started the speech by welcoming the people in Spanish. Below is the English portion of her presentation.

Hi. My name is Natasha. I’m 12 years old. Back in 2000, prospects for my generation were looking pretty good. College was affordable. America was at peace. We had a President who had signed the Kyoto Treaty to protect against global warming. The job market and the stock market were booming and we could count on a pretty good future. We also believed that one day we would be able to vote and have our vote counted.

Now, America is at war with the rest of the world. College is unaffordable for most American children and, even if we are lucky enough to graduate, job prospects look pretty dim. There is some question as to whether the guy who lost an election and took over anyway will wipe out all life on Earth – either through his nuclear program or his anti-environmental program.

My generation needs a hero to step in and save the day. We need someone who will put you and me and all people before his career and before special interests. We need someone who will unite the people of America, Democrats, Republican, Independents, Greens, Libertarians and others for the common good of all mankind. We need someone who will motivate the 68% who stayed home in the last election and give them a reason to vote. We need Dennis Kucinich. While other candidates have spent the last two years skipping out on their jobs to raise money and to campaign, Dennis Kucinich has never missed a vote in Congress. He’s given up campaign opportunities and million dollar fundraisers to protect the interests of the people who elected him. No wonder he gets re-elected by 74%. Back in Cleveland, he put his career and his future on the line to protect the people from special interests and was later declared the hero who saved Cleveland. We have the historic opportunity to work to elect another Thomas Jefferson, another Abraham Lincoln, another Franklin Delano Roosevelt, another John F. Kennedy. Are we up to the challenge?

Dennis Kucinich is the only candidate who has the courage to stand up for a Department of Peace, to stand up for the environment, to stand up for quality health care for all, to stand up for the right of my generation to attend college, to stand up against foreign child slave labor and to stand up for the right of all Americans to achieve the American dream. Why settle for a country run by special interests when we could have a President who will give us the kind of America we’ve always dreamed of?

Dennis reminds me of another Congressman whose record of winning was not nearly as good as Dennis’s. That other Congressman was told he was unelectable. In fact that Congressman had been defeated two years prior to the 1860 election by the man he had to beat to win the Presidency. Imagine what America would have looked lf people like you had not worked to make Abraham Lincoln President – if the slaves had not been freed. Imagine what the future of America will look like if Dennis Kucinich is not given the opportunity to free all Americans from a different kind of slavery – slavery to the corporate thugs who have taken over our government and looted our treasury and bankrupted our corporations. Let future generations be proud of our courage to stand up for the one candidate who will make this a better world for all Americans.

Dennis’s candidacy has inspired me to write two poems. Here is one of them.

A Hero For America
{By Natasha H. (age 12)}

Out of Ohio a long shot has come.
Voters greet him with a hearty welcome.
Fearful candidates hope he’ll go away.
“Unelectable” they lyingly say.

Suddenly there’s hope for health care for all.
America soon again can stand tall.
Total equality, he can secure.
For America’s ills, he is the cure.

College for all will be affordable
If we believe our dreams are possible.
Jobs for Americans soon will come back
Goodbye to W.T.O.’s job attack.

No more arsenic or nuclear waste
Nor cyanide in the water to taste.
Our environment now needs a hero
Who won’t sell us out as his profits grow.

He will help us to restore our liberty.
No more Homeland spying on you and me.
He will save our civil rights from attacks.
He will stop the outrageous fascist acts.

Each of us needs to stand up for what’s right,
Pulling America out of its plight.
We are the ones who determine who wins -
Not some conservative whose lies are sins.

We need a man who is honest and true,
One who will work hard for me and for you,
One who puts people above his campaign,
Who won’t skip out on work for his own gain.

Dennis will make this a great place for all.
He’s the right man. Are you up to the call?
Together we can make this country rich.
By choosing the best leader: Kucinich.

2. Little Natasha H. has more wisdom in her little finger than most adults!
Thanks for sharing this! You were there right? What did you think?

I've noticed so many young people rallying behind Kucinich!

DARE TO DREAM right?!

Someone needs to tell Natasha H. that she ROCKS!

Imagine what America would have looked lf people like you had not worked to make Abraham Lincoln President – if the slaves had not been freed. 6. they are a great bunch those kids and you know
If you folks are proud of me being this young and involved you have to hand it to those kids really. Most kids my age dont know who Kucinich is, and most kids their age especially dont and they are working their butts off for him.
