Actor Clooney to stump for candidate father

When George Clooney donned a black cape and a mask on the silver screen, he always saved the day.

But it remains to be seen whether the actor who played Batman can save the day for his father’s campaign for a Kentucky congressional seat by helping him raise some much-needed cash.

The former “ER” star and one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors will appear this weekend at two fundraisers in northern Kentucky for Democratic hopeful Nick Clooney.

The elder Clooney, a well-known former TV anchor and newspaper columnist, is the only Democrat running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Ken Lucas (D).
