NJ Dems: Check out D. Anne Wolfe.
She's running for The House(against alpha-test human Scott Garrett...) in the 5th District(One of the great gerrymandered messes on the planet). I heard her speak last friday night, at the Warren County Democratic Committee's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner and damn, was I impressed. The woman is whip-smart, speaks with real authority and the contrast with Mr. Knuckledragger is incredible.

Check her out, and if you can, send her a taste. She will need it.

Oh: No, I am not involved with her campaign, beyond the fact that I am a Democrat and I think she's got The Burnin' Mojo.

1. I met her at Emily's List luncheon in 2002
She was standing behind me in line for the Lady's Room (it was after the luncheon was done at it was a long-ass line).

I even donated $10 to her campaign. She's a fabulous lady and get's 2-thumbs up from this gal!!

2. She won the Bergen County Convention vote
That is the largest county in the 5th district and getting the party line there is extremely important to winning the democratic nomination to challenge Scott Garrett. Hopefully, she'll have a website soon. I really think that Garrett, even though he won easily in 2002, should be vulnerable. He was known to be conservative, but his voting record is one of the most right wing in the House of Representatives and this district only leans narrowly to national republicans. But, I doubt that the democrats will get much help from the DCCC because of Garrett's surprsingly large victory in 2002.

4. Well
It was gerrymandered to make it more republican. But, the 7th was more gerrymandered to protect republican Mike Ferguson and the 12th was more gerrymandered to protect Democrat Rush Holt. And the 10th and 13th were gerrymandered to ensure a black and hispanic congressman respectively. But, the district is now pretty republican as part of the incumbent protection plan and will likely stay republican.

5. Can always hope she comes thru somehow...
Garrett is one of those scumbags that cosponsored the FMA. No one deserves to be thrown out of his seat more than him! (Aside from the other 120 or so cosponsors in the House, anywayz...)

There will definitely be other races that are winnable in other states where you money can be better spent.
