`Bush Tax' - I LIKE THIS MANTRA!

Bush Defends Tax Cuts, Trade Accords; Kerry Says Working Families Are Hurt

<snip>Kerry has said he would repeal the portion of the $1.7 trillion tax cuts for those who earn more than $200,000 and use that money to expand access to health care and college.

`Bush Tax'
``If you add up the true costs of this president's economic policies, you get a Bush Tax of higher property taxes, higher fees, higher health care costs,'' Kerry said in his AFL-CIO speech. `This Bush Tax can take $3,500 or more from the pockets of America's middle class.''
Kerry said he'd preserve the child tax credit and tax reductions for married couples, and would introduce tax credits to help pay for health care and college tuition. He'd also seek a fund to help states defray property taxes for working families.
Bush wants Congress to make his tax cuts permanent. Republican leaders such Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley of Iowa said they can't get the votes to do that this year and won't try. Instead, they plan to extend three cuts scheduled to expire this year that affect families with children, low-income taxpayers and married couples.
Kerry's tax proposals will depend largely on whether Democrats retake control of Congress in the November elections.

Foisting the debts of this generator on the future.
