Who Is Running Against Tom De Lay Now That Dust Has Settled?
What Democratic candidate is running against Tom De Lay in the November election now that the dust of the Texas Democratic primary has settled out? I held off from sending any candidate any money until I knew which Democrat was going to try to squash the bug man.

I'd like to know. I may not live in De Lay's district, but I'm an angry Travis County Democrat who thinks that it's time to try for some payback for his attempt to stiff Travis County, and I do plan to contribute to the Democratic candidate later this month.

1. Did not see the results, but Richard Morrison was leading the polls...
...by a fairly wide margin.

5. Does Morrison have a chance against bugman?
I'm in NC, but will gladly throw some cash Morrison's way if there's a chance of beating that piece of shit Delay. Can it happen? Can an organization like MoveOn.org help?

6. I'd say no. House Districts are usually bullet proof for incumbents
...and Texas 22 probably more than any other.

HOWEVER: The fact that Delay even HAS Democtratic opposition is telling. That Morrison is receiving credible local news coverage is unbelievable.

I'm going to contribute and work for the guy as much as I can. (I'm not in the 22nd District either). He can get a message out to what is probably the most receptive audience he (or we) can ever expect to get in this corner of the 9th circle of RW hell.

10. Strange things have happened in the past
1994 - sitting Speaker of the House, Tom Foley, was defeated in his congressional seat in Washington.

Not a "sign" - and DeLay certainly has a huge advantage. But he is also under some serious investigations (particularly around campaign finance laws in Texas). Never say never... and may we all find ways to support Morrison in his efforts. Perhaps we can see another unexpected upset like that of Foley... but this time in Texas of the bugman hammer.

4. delay
I think Mr. Tom Delay is a very dangerous man. I hope a very good Democrat runs against him. He has got to be stopped.

7. He's *the* most dangerous in my pantheon of RW traitors...
...nothing he believes in has anything to do with the founding principles of this country.

I don't live in his district either. I'm also in Travis County where Lloyd Doggett is who DeLay wanted out so badly. If you can support DeLay's opponent, please do at the links above.

If you would like to support Lloyd Doggett who the republicans want out so badly, this is his site.
