There MUST be exit polling on Nov. 2! Exit polling is the most accurate kind of polling there is, because, obviously, you're getting a more truly random and representative cross-section of the voting public than you can at any other time, and because you're polling them at the same time they actually cast their votes. And yet, after the exit polling data seemed to be somehow skewed during the 2000 and 2002 elections, I remember hearing some time back that the news organizations that had been conducting exit polling were not going to do it any more.
I don't remember the details, but I do remember that the original call for Gore in Florida in 2000 was based on exit polling data, and, my fellow DUers, we all know that original call was CORRECT, that Gore DID indeed win Florida, and it was numerous illegal shenanigans by Republicans that allowed them to steal that state's electoral votes. (How is it possible to explain the fact that ALL of the Bush-Gore overvote ballots in Florida were in punch-card counties, unless it was because of willful, DELIBERATE ballot tampering?)
And then two or three months ago on Malloy's or Hartmann's or somebody's radio show I heard Bev Harris say that the outcome of the 2002 Georgia senate and gubernatorial races, in which almost all of the votes were cast on paperless touchscreen machines, was "a statistical impossibility."
This is why there MUST be exit polling data for the Nov. 2 general election. If they're going to fix the election by rigging the software in the voting machines, WE'VE GOT TO KNOW ABOUT IT. We MUST have compelling statistical data to PROVE that this happened, because if it does happen, WE CAN'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH STEALING ANOTHER ELECTION.
Do y'all know if anybody is going to conduct exit polling on Nov. 2? And if not, do any of you have any suggestions or ideas as to how we can get somebody to do it?
