Roy Moore-The Right's Ralph Nader?
Would you say he is? He would help split the Bush base.

1. He would hurt the GOP more than Nader would hurt us.
Nader will not be a factor. Moore would suck in fundies by the barrel.

2. Is he running?
If he is, we actually have a shot at taking Alabama. My dad is the Dem party chair down there, and the idea of Moore running makes him sweat with joy. The breakdown:

25% will vote for Bush no matter what
25% will vote against Bush no matter what

The rest is a horse race between the African American voters, swing voters, new voters and fundies. If the fundies go to Moore, and the indies can be convinced to vote against Bush, and the AA voters flock to the Dem banner in large numbers because Bush and Moore are in the race...you've got an opening there.

3. Keep hearing rumours, on here and elsewhere.
I hope, I hope, I hope he does. We need more wackos on the Right splitting the party.

4. who are you talking to?
I want to try to follow this. Where or who are you getting your info. on Moore from. It just seem too good to be true, but please just let it be true.

5. I thought the same thing when I heard the Constitution Party was....
...courting him.

I also thought: "Run, Roy, Run!!"

6. They've already got Howard Phillips and the "Constitution Party"
That's who Moore would be replacing. Those people will
get their votes, but probably the overwhelming majority
will be in the "safe for Bush" states...

This is a news story I found on the topic:

The bottom line, though, is really the same as it was in 2000. If Edwards or Kerry, or whoever, has to rely on Roy Moore to pull a Ross Perot for them, they're in trouble before they've even gotten started.

9. Object to comparing those two men *lol* BUT
I have sent some conservative Christians to the Draft Moore site. They are just itching to get campaigning for him.

10. He isn't running...if he does
he will have no effect accept in a couple of southern states that Bush will win by 7-12 pts.
Mississippi is not going to be in play for us no matter who, or what runs.
This is just silly.

11. Thank you, notbush, for a massive dose of reality
I swear, the Monty Python theme song blared in the background when someone suggested Alabama could be in play.

Yeah, Bush has a given of 25% in Alabama. And the Yankees have a base payroll of about 5 bucks.

12. roy moore
I doubt Roy Moore is going to actually take enough votes away to make much of a difference, his entire pull will be from southern states that are fairly supportive of Bush as is...

However I encourage him to run just to shake up the fundamentalist voters and split that vote apart as much as possible. If one southern state pickup is possible, its worth it.

13. Even if we *don't* gain a southern state directly...
it's worth it because it forces Bush to spend resources in the South, and it forces him to pander to those who would consider voting for Moore. Thus his ability to campaign in other areas and appeal to the center is diminished.

14. Moore
Maybe bu$H will throw him a recess appointment to a court to keep him out.

If he does run Moore better stay out of airplanes. Seriously.
