Roy Moore considering presidential run
Here's the link-www.politics1.com

MOORE ACTING MORE LIKE A CANDIDATE. Ousted Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore (R) -- the "Ten Commandments Judge" -- is starting to act more and more like a third party Presidential candidate. For a guy who isn't running for President "right now" (to quote his spokesperson), he's sure starting to act like a candidate. Moore is speaking at Constitution Party events in Oregon and Montana this month, according to the party's website. With President Bush currently trailing both Kerry and Edwards for re-elction by double-digits -- according to the latest CNN poll -- that last thing he wants in November is a "Ralph Nader of the Right" draining Christian conservative votes from his essential base.

2. That would be so FREAKIN' cool!

He would steal all of the fundy vote from Bush leaving him with very little actual support. We could even end up winning some key Southern states that we thought we had no chance in!

Run, Roy, run! God wants you to!

3. This is great
There is an active Constitution Party in North Dakota (currently trying to amend the constitution to require a 60% vote for all tax increases, including inflation-driven assessments increases).

This is a fairly effective bunch a looney toones. I will gladly make some time for their candidate petition drive.

Bush needs an opponent like this on the right. He will siphon off the Gay Hater vote and all sorts of other Funnydamentalist folderol.

7. Those Constitution Party folks have been in Baltimore
since the religious icon (10 commandments) deal, passing out flyers downtown.
There's always one man and several ankle-length-denim-skirted, coffee filter-headed women working a block at a time. They want signatures for a ballot initiative.
I haven't seen any takers so far.

Note: no offense to coffee filters intended.

9. OK, DU, this could be our chance!!
Let's do everything we can to encourage His Honor (cough, wink) to run for President. Email the Constitution Party, write letters to your local editors, sign ballot petitions and even (shudder) give them a few bucks. Watcvhing Bush battle the Fundies could be FUN!!

Maybe they'll need to slap a coffee filter on Pickles???

10. How does one go about supporting the Constitution Party?
How does one go about supporting the Constitution Party? Because this is one sure fire way of drawing dissatisfied religious right wingers to produce a protest vote against Bush.

12. I am confused ....
How can he be speaking to/running for the Constitution Party when the Constitution makes the whole separation of Church and State guidelines he's so flagrantly violated ????

Or are they the 'Constitution according to the way we see it' party ?

13. It's the GOP's underbelly unchecked, basically:
from the Constitution party webpage:

"The Constitution Party is the only party which is completely pro-life, anti-homosexual rights, pro-American sovereignty, anti-globalist, anti-free trade, anti-deindustrialization, anti-unchecked immigration, pro-second amendment, and against the constantly increasing expansion of unlawful police laws, in favor of a strong national defense and opposed to unconstitutional interventionism.
"

How the heck is intervening in international trade and immigration staying within Constitutional boundaries under strict construction?

14. Constitution Party
They aren't really for strict Constitutional interpretation, as their name would suggest. They're more for 'interpret the Constitution OUR way'. (which, I guess, could be applied to most parties, really)

That said:

 Run! Roy! Run! Mwahhahhahhaa

17. Oh this would be great news!
Especially with Bush catering to the extreme right these days and alienating almost everybody else, the votes Moore would steal won't be replaced by moderates. Even better, Moore might push Bush further to the right to get some of the vote back.

18. The only bad thing about Moore running....
is he is so wacko that Shrub looks almost moderate by comparison. But I am willing to take that risk. I have a hard time believing Moore will run, though. Some wingnut Pub fatcat will buy him off I am afraid.
