Long Live the Dean Democrats
We're not done. Our fight has just started.

And yes, I'm still voting for Dean in my primary, and my district is still sending Dean delegates to the convention.

But that's not the reason I came back for this final post. I came back to say that Dean's campaign ALL ALONG has been about reforming our party. And all the cynicism and dirty tricks from Kerry's DLC won't stop us just because they stopped Dean's candidacy. It's energized us.

Fortunately, in MY community, we've known the point of this campaign from the start. And we're making HUGE differences.

Thanks to Howard Dean, we know how to find the soul of our party, and SOLELY thanks to Dean.

If you think this election cycle is all about Bush, you're not right in the head. Because if it's all about Bush, then your fight ends on November 3. My fight has no end. Mine is a life long battle to make the D party strong. If you supported anyone but Dean, then you don't get it and probably never will. It's OK, I'll fight for both of us.

I got kicked off some shit board called Dean Underground because I preached PARTY UNITY, I vowed to support Democrats in their efforts. That board is gone now, and I'm still here. Long Live the Dean Democrats.

1. My Dean sign is still up
I wish I'd found Dean Underground so that I could have been kicked off, too. I love the guy, but he isn't a religion.

9. Mine too
It's so sad that the truly progressive messengers like Howard and Dennis K. get snuffed by the big money "belt" insiders.
Howard had the message, the morals and the grass roots support and could have beat Shrub.
I'm seriously thinking of writing him in in both the primary and general election.

write him in in the general.

IMHO, it would be better to GET INVOLVED in local politics and fight in one of the mini-revolutions that are going on all around the country.

:hi: Welcome to DU!

3. Dean is a loser.
His campaign was a flat tire. If you can salvage something, go for it. Dean was a swindler. He bilked many for 41 million. He won nothing. A poor third. For all the good press and good polls, money and volunteers he couldn't win. Plant your excuses and see how fast they grow. If you want reform ,find a better horse to ride.

6. the true loser
is the person who looks to a candidate, any candidate, to make the changes for them.
stay in the stable looking at and commenting on the horses. at least there, you're out of the way of the rest of us working for reform.

14. I gave Dean $2,000 and am proud I gave it to him
It was the best investment I made because it was Howard Dean, not Kerry, Edwards, Kucinich, etc., who lit a fire under the Democrats and forced the Party to start heading back to the center after listing too far to the right kissing * butt.

The non-Dem nominee will get my vote in November but nothing else. I will work with Dean's new group to continue reforming the Dem Party.

13. We were stopped from doing it top down, so we will do it bottom up
And put Dean inspired Democrats into local offices.

We're going to get school boards! And then County Commissioners, Secretary of States, Governors, Representatives, Senators, and then we are going to take the White House! Yeah!

15. All Democrats owe a LOT to Dean
His name is still on the ballot for upcoming Primaries in the remaining states (way over half the states, many with BIG populations). He has delegates and can get more delegates.

Dennis Kucinich has been predicting this will be a brokered convention because he believes Kerry can be prevented from getting the majority of delegates necessary to win outright.

Anything can happen in a brokered convention. Delegates are no longer bound to any specific candidate. Super Delegates come into play too. The Dean delegates can play a decisive role in selecting the nominee and in influencing the party platform.

It is time to start thinking about what we can do together to keep democracy alive by keeping the wishes of the people first and foremost in the decisions made at the convention.

First priority is to exercise your vote in the Primary if your state has not already voted. Even try to become a Dean delegate if your Congressional District can pull 15% for Dean.

16. A brokered convention is music to my ears!
We need to stop Kerry from getting the nomination. Dean or Gore should be the nominee with Edwards as the VP on the ticket. Just my two-cents worth!
