Why I am passionate about Kerry vs. Bush.
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 11:57 AM by blm
There are a few of us here at DU who are longtime BFEE watchers.

We are aware of almost every dirty move made by BushInc. over the last 40 years.

Of all the candidates and other Democratic lawmakers over this same period of time, none have even come close to taking on the powerstructures behind Bush and exposing them the way John Kerry has.

He faced down Nixon and has endured even while the rightwing operatives planted stories and smears against him.

He exposed BCCI, IranContra and CIA drugrunning, even while rightwing operatives ramped up their efforts to smear him with more planted stories. Kerry endured.

There are those of us who have been waiting for decades to see this matchup in a general election that will certainly reveal even more of the BFEE and how it works than ever before.

Our passion is unmatched because it has a basis STEEPED in the search for justice and in longing to see the BFEE exposed and DEFEATED.

1. Thank you for your post! I sometimes have a hard time reading
the threads on DU because it seems a lot of people expect perfection from a candidate, and are convinced that their candidate has achieved it.
I am amazed when Kerry is portrayed as too right wing, boring, no better than Bush, etc etc......

The truth is, as you are saying, he has fought against institutionalized corruption for years, is well spoken, has good ideas and will surround himself with great people, is a coalition builder. Not to mention his wife, who is a big asset.

So, I am with you in your cause (how can one family be so evil!!), hand in there, and we'll take the White House!!!

I actually am quite worried about the voting machines, though, given last election and the vulnerability of e-voting!

10. And I, as well, blm. You are the most passionate JK defender on DU.
I salute your great work for John Kerry's candidacy.

There was a great segment on CNN contrasting Dubya's and Kerry's war records. It was boffo! I hope they show it over and over and over.

7. Rove is sweating like the pig he is because he knows Kerry is

more than capable of defeating the idiot son.

The BFEE will use all their $ and influence to try and assassinate Kerry in the media but finally after 3 very long years more and more Americans of all political stripes are coming to the conclusion that
Bush has got to go.

I hope that Kerry has the best personal security that $ can buy . He may need it before this is all over.

This is going to be an election like no other in our lifetimes.

11. Bush isn't so popular in Michigan.
In fact, my family in California, New York and elsewhere say the Little Turd from Crawford is looking more and more each day like his Poppy, a loser.

Kerry, as blm has so eloquently stated above, has worked his entire adult life to get in a position to take out the most evil, corrupt and foul administration in US history. The cancer they've spread on this nation is almost as complete as that during and after the Civil War. It's going to take an outstanding President to pull the country together. He's going to have to, with the problems the nation and the world face. Tell you what I know for certain: John Kerry is the best qualified candidate we've had to do so in decades.

BTW: A hearty welcome to du, TheChosenWun! I like the moniker! Down with the BFEE!

9. Kerry is going to kick the snot out of Bush
Clark is going to be Kerry's VP. Of course the pundits haven't suggested it much...yet. And Edwards is the challenger du jour these days. But the pundits haven't been right about much so far. Clark is simply the most logical choice. He 's a southerner. He's an "outsider." He was against THE war, but as a career military man, he is definitely not anti-war. He has a large block of dedicated grassroots supporters. He's good looking. He has or is about to endorse Kerry. He's going to be offered something, and I just think it will be VP. I've heard others suggest Sec. of Defense or State (please, no, the current general in this position will be enough for some time, thanks).

Edwards is callow and green, and Rove'll wrap him in bacon and cook him like a veal cutlet. Edwards has boxed himself into a corner with his "goody goody" persona (which I think is fake); much of his support is predicated on it, and if he has to fight dirty to win the election, he will lose that support. Kerry will have no problem getting down in the muck, or finding people to do it for him while he stands above the fray. AWOL, Bush's arrest record and more, though they should have been issues four years, ago, will defintely be issues this time around. Kerry, with the weight of the Democratic party establishment behind him, will take the gloves off, and come out swinging. The GOP keeps winning because they continually put the Democrats on the defensive; they frame the issues, and set the table reserving the best seats for themselves, but the table is about to be turned.

Will Bush, Rove Inc. be stupid enough to bring up Kerry's Vietnam protests? Of course they will, they're already doing it. Do they really want to? Do they really want to bring more attention to Bush's AWOL years? Do they really want to draw more comparisons to Iraq and Vietnam? This issue will be a non-starter for the GOP.

Bush is out.
