Kucinich's state of confusion
Dennis Kucinich isn't exactly burning up the campaign trail, with his 1 per cent support in last week's Iowa caucuses. But shouldn't the Ohio congressman at least be in the state where people are voting for him?

While almost every other Democratic hopeful was making the rounds with New Hampshire voters before they went to the polls, Kucinich had decamped to Maine. (The other exception was Al Sharpton, but the reverend was at least in South Carolina, site of the next primary.)

According to ABC News's political memo, The Note, Kucinich had crossed the frozen border for a morning of events. First, the Ohio representative greeted commuters in Portland; then he ate breakfast at the Porthole Restaurant. Is that any way to woo New Hampshire voters?

"He has been in Maine," his press secretary David Swanson confirmed to Observer at 11am, saying he had even slept over. "He's back in New Hampshire now."

I'm sure that if Kucinich had spent more time in NH he would have gotten more than 2% of the vote.

2. Dennis was in NH
before he came to Maine.

I appreciate the fact that Dennis is traveling to every state and not just the "important" ones. DK, as far as i know, is the only presidential candidate to visit Maine. If you'd like to be the party's nominee for President, shouldn't you connect with All of its members?

I saw Dennis when he was here and was thankful for the opportunity. i'll be attending Maine's caucus to cast my vote for him.

3. Thank you for thinking DK so insignificant
that you are compelled to expend a lot of energy dissing him. :-)

5. <snort>
I've noticed that some seem to be vigilant about taking time out to make sure we all know that Dennis doesn't have a chance. A contradiction indicating some conflict, ya think? ;-)

8. I really wish there was some conflict
I would love nothing more to see Kucinich go toe to toe with one of the DLC candidates. Then it would be settled once and for all where the 'heart' of the Democratic party is. Unfortunately Kucinich hasn't been able to convince many people that he is a serious candidate. Perhaps as the primary season drags on it will be only Kucinich and Kerry. Then we will see what happens when voters get a chance between a DLCer and a co-chair or the Progressive Caucus.

7. Good one, Lydia
Freddie certainly does seem to spend a lot of his time attacking someone he claims doesn't worry him. Methinks he doth protest too much.

9. Maine's primary isn't until June
It is having a caucus on February 8, which is after South Carolina's February 3 primary.

10. I kept telling Dennis that he should hire you as his
campaign manager, but he just wouldn't listen.
