Kucinich Contribution EXPLOSION
Whoa.

He was at 1,180,000 or so and now I just looked and it is at 1,430,000

$250,000 difference.

If this is all just in this one day...all I have to say is "WHOA!"

Looks like he'll make his goal of 1,700,000 for Q4.

He just keeps going up and up each quarter.

Maybe CNN running his Ad today really helped. :)

3. Kucinich's chances...
I hope everyone will write to ABC and complain of their cowardly non-coverage of Kucinich's, Moseley Braun's, and Sharpton's campaigns. Hmmm. Two black candidates and Congress' most liberal member. Why, if I didn't know any better, I might think ABC is trying to discourage voters' consideration of these candidates.

There is an up-from-the-ashes authenticity to Kucinich. I hope his fortunes turn for the best in the coming weeks.

I don't want him to turn into a DMCA supporter and MPAA/RIAA patsy. I like Kucinich, but if he wants to keep my respect, he better follow the path he is sharing with Dean and stay away from that crap.

5. I noticed that too
Some pretty substantial gains in contributions. It definitely has something to do with his excellent critique of the media via the Koppel conflict. It's becoming increasingly obvious to those people who are captive to the media that a campaign is underway to ignore him and his platform as much as possible.

Even NPR latest story on his "progessive stance" failed to mention any of his actual stances, and also played Ted Koppel's question from the debate (you know, the question), yet failed to play Kucinich's response or the largest applause of the night! People are beginning to open their eyes.

So that's not just great for Kucinich, it's great for America. I'm going to donate more, that's for sure.

6. i needed some good news today!
thanks for the heads up!

it feels good to truly believe in a candidate this time around, i came to the DU without a candidate, did the research, and Dennis Kucinich seemed perfect to me, i then set out to convert the candidate-less in my circle of friends, and i was just talking to the six original friends i recruited, and where i was one person, WE ARE NOW 41!!!

word is spreading like wildfire here, people are energized by his candidacy, maybe not just here in PA according to this post...i am sorry i missed the CNN ad...and i refuse to give up, or waver in my commitment, plus i have found my fellow 'kucinich kids' to be very very kind and positive people

thank you all
one love

7. Woohoo!!!
The quality of his coverage (especially in Iowa) has gone up exponentially in the last few weeks. They are no longer calling him a "longshot" or a "fringe candidate", but are actually starting to cover WHAT HE SAYS as opposed to how much money he's raised.

Ironic, isnt' it, that when he raises money, he's suddenly "viable"?

18. We're on the far turn.
The closer is moving up. The sound those front-runners hear coming up behind them?

What is radical about healthcare for all? What is radical about education for all? What is radical about jobs for all? When that starts to be radical, we have to ask ourselves, what in the heck has happened to this country? All of a sudden somebody starts talking about peace and prosperity and is seen as a radical? My God, where are we going as a nation? What does that say? All of a sudden "mainstream" is supporting monopolies? Mainstream is supporting war? Mainstream is supporting a healthcare system that is stopping people from being able to get care? It's like America has gone upside down, and so, you know, I am here to help put it right side up.

Just as I looked up here came the whole herd, down into the draw. That is DK, the thunder is getting louder and the front runners had better check their backsides. This is so very much like him. If I get that done on schedule, another 50 in NH. And I just wrote the first four letters this morning. Condensing what I have to say about Dennis into one manageable page was a challenge, but I think I 've got it done. I plan to write 10 a day until the day before the big day. Not much, but a big job for the carpal tunnel; my wrist is already complaining. I see we're up to $1,506,854; another $193, 146 to go in the next 3 days. I've done all I can in December; am planning another donation with the Jan 1st check. A good way to usher in 2004; a midnight contribution!

69. I just talked to him on the phone.
Shoulda told him he's the 'beans and rice' candidate because people will sacrifice so that they can contribute.
Around here, even unemployed steelworkers with no job prospects are contributing. They know which side their bread is buttered on.

74. I have an e-mail here from
a campaign staffer-

"The campaign's fourth quarter money now stands at $1.622 million, with many checks still to be counted and the possibility that the figure will reach the mark set by the campaign during the third quarter of $1.7 million. The Kucinich campaign brought in just over $1.5 million in the second quarter, and $187,000 in the first quarter. So the total, without counting matching funds, is about $5 million. With at least 80 percent being matched, that total jumps to about $9 million."

My personal opinion is we'll beat the 1.7 Mill. mark by quite a bit.

To the Dean supporter, he'll need that money to counter the Rove machine which will sieze on every single gaffe, mis-speak, flip-flop and slip-up he's ever made. Kucinich doesn't have those problems, and more than that, he has people willing, ready and able to walk the streets spreading the word at NO cost to the campaign.(I don't even send in for "in-kind" funds because if I did I couldn't afford to return the money. Better to leave it where it is than blow the paperwork and time on reporting.) Some of us wouldn't take campaign funds even if they were offered.

75. Lots of DK supporters
like myself, say that they have never before been moved to actively work for a candidate at all or to donate this much.

The supporters may be numerically fewer than Dean's, but their support is deep, with none of the bandwagon effect I see among some Dean supporters.

The BFEE is the problem - Kucinich is the answer.
