1. When did Dean pick up Boxer and Neopolitano's endorsement?
Or am I misreading the chart? Still going thru the chart, may have more questions. Dean is doing well, no doubt.

8. you are misreading the chart...
Napolitano and Boxer don't have any name on the left column. Thus, that means they have not endorse anyone.

3. They also seem to be saying
Harkin, Vilsak, and Donna Brazil have nedorsed Dean. Not sure I trust this list. But Dean is doing well on endorsements no doubt.

4. Dean is doing well but
I wouldn't trust the list.

Donna Brazile was recently saying good things about Kerry. Harkin hasn't made any announcement yet though is rumored to be endorsing Dean soon according to DU gossip. Napalitano hasn't made any endorsement and just claimed recently she probably wouldn't until after the Feb 3 AZ primary.

9. you are misreading the list too...
Harkin, Napolitano, Vilsack, Brazile don't have any name on the left column. They have not endorsed yet. Only those members with a candidate name on the left column have endorsed.

14. Only where there is a name
on the immediate left of a superdelegate has an endorsement been made to date.

5. Add 3 NJ superdelegates to Dean
Bonnie Watson-Coleman and Joseph Cryan the State chair and State vice chair of the NJ democratic state party have both endorsed Dean but aren't on that list. Also, Congressman Bob Menendez will reportedly be endorsing Dean soon according to Roll Call and Politicsnj.com.

6. This is irrelevant
There are no super-delegates right now because delegates haven't even been selected. It's nothing more than "what if".

7. unless they die
they will be in Boston and most politicians don't endorse and then unendorse since it makes them look stupid.

18. I'm glad you brought that up
If Dean does not have sufficient committed delegates, as in "won in a primary", when he walks into the convention I doubt very much that he will leave with the nomination.

Frankly, these superdelegate endorsements are worth the air they are printed on. When push comes to shove, there will be a lot of pushing and shoving by the DLC and the Clintons and other "establishment" factions to slip the dirk to Dean and slide the nomination to Clark or Kerry or Gephardt.

The perils of being a frontrunner. If you can't convince 50% of the activists who vote in a Democratic primary to support you (and Dean has shown no ability to do that) it raises a serious question as to how he'll do elsewhere with the electorate.

Dean has been running since before the 2000 debacle. He was pushing ahead even when it seemed Gore or Hillary might be considering a race themselves. It must have seemed a Godsend when both of them backed out and left him facing a field of lesser lights with poorer backing and organisation.

However, as he becomes more clearly perceived as a threat to the "ruling party" in the Party, you can expect more direct and savage attacks on his campaign.

Should be interesting.

10. yes, those on the list are superdelegates...
they are going to the convention regardless of what delegates are chosen. It's not what if... these people could be key in case the delegates are split.

12. It is very unlikely that they will matter
There hasn't really been a convention that matter in over 2 decades I believe. These superdelegates will have no role. If they do indeed have to be brought in they will just push the only candidate left over the top so that he can win even if they originally didn't support him. I would be absolutly shocked if the convention actually was where the nominee was determined.

13. Not irrelevant
Not necessarily significant, but the relevancy is super-delegates are something every campaign tries to gather.

17. Your source is inaccurate and clearly biased.
For instance, Lynn Woolsey endorsed Dennis Kucinich laste summer but your source pretended she was uncommitted. Diane Watson endorsed him last February. YOu are also off on Kerry's endorsements. Nice trick.

19. It doesn't include Kucinich, Braun and Sharpton
I don't know why but it isn't that big of a deal because those 3 have very few endorsements. However, I would have included them. The website isn't biased though when it comes to the other candidates. Perhaps it isn't completely accurate but it does a fairly good job. It is also a little low for Dean endorsements because he has 3 more from New Jersey so it shows that the person that runs this website doesn't know about every superdelegate but does a pretty good job.

21. and what makes it even more impressive for Dean
is that 22 of Kerry's super delegates are from his homestate of Massachusetts compared to 6 super delegates for Dean from his homestate of Vermont. So if you subtract homestate super delegates Dean is leading by an impressive 52-34 over Kerry.

23. From this Clarkie to Dean: Congratulations. Someone answer this question
Are Superdelegates committed once they endorse someone the same way that regular delegates get committed? Or can they switch allegience to a different candidate before their guy drops?

Just curious

24. They aren't commited
They can switch and support whoever they want to at the convention. I think that they usually end up voting for whoever is the only candidate left in the race in the convention even if they didn't support him in the primary season.
