Rumor Falsely Portrays Howard Dean as "Enemy" of Israel
Posted: December 12, 2003

A widely circulated, unsigned e-mail portrays Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean as an outright enemy of the Jewish state. The message claims that Gov. Dean has "promised that if he is elected president, the United States will no longer support Israel the way it has in the past under both Democratic and Republican presidents." This e-mail, which relates to comments made by Dean in early September, is malicious, misleading and factually inaccurate.

2. There is a letter from Dean
On that site giving his position.

September 12, 2003

"Since Harry Truman's historic decision to make the United States the first nation to recognize the Jewish state, Americans have been united in their commitment to the state of Israel. I will not allow a crack to emerge in that important national consensus. I look forward to working with you in the future and to develop a strong working relationship."

3. I saw it in something
in my inbox, but so far I can't locate it. I read the accusation and it's frankly a lame attempt to turn Dean's words against him long after he explained that he wasn't aware of their connotations.

People, come ON already! Who listens to Sharon THAT closely? Criminy, I listen to him but no to the extent that I count the number of times he uses specific phrases!
