Capture of Saddam an Opportunity, Not a Setback!
With the capture of Saddam Hussein, rather than conceding victory to George W. Bush, Democrats should use this opportunity to launch new attacks on Republicans. After all, it was prior Republican administrations that supported and armed Hussein in the first place. If I were Howard Dean, I would call for Bush to hand Hussein over to an international tribunal and then have the independent interrogators ask some serious questions like, “What weapons systems were sold to you or otherwise provided by the Reagan and Bush I administrations?” and “What contacts did you have with the American CIA over the past 25 years and what information did they provide to you?” or “How did the CIA help you overthrow the government of Abd al-Karim Qasim in 1963?” With Saddam alive and in custody, maybe now we can finally get to the bottom of which American politicians sold the components necessary to produce biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to a madman like Saddam Hussein in the first place!

1. The GOP thugs answer about arming and supporting Hussein
...those were different times, when Iran was the bigger bully on the block.

They will use this to justify Saddam, and unfroutunatly most people will accept there garbage. Situational Ethics is a GOP specialty.

3. Homer, I Gotta Disagree With You

While your point regarding the GOP and situational ethics is a fair one (I prefer to call it "moral relativism", as they derogatorially use it against Democrats), I don't think your comment that it was "different times", holds a bit of water.

Bush has gotten a complete pass on the indisputable fact that it was his old man, for Christs sake, that armed Hussein in the first place! I'll bet 90% of Americans don't know that. If Bill Clinton's Dad had sold chemical and biological weapons to Hussein, do you think the media would have passed on reporting that?!?

FAT CHANCE!

No, I think Bush's corrupt past and his extremely corrupt father and brothers need to be brought up again and again and again and again before November of 2004!!!!
