If Howard Dean had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power today

"This news makes clear the choice the Democrats face next year," Lieberman said. "If Howard Dean had his way, Saddam Hussein would still be in power today, not in prison, and the world would be a much more dangerous place."

Saddam's Capture Roils 2004 White House Race

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - <snip>The most immediate effects, analysts said, would be a spike in the polls for Bush, vindication for the four candidates who voted to allow Bush to go to war in Iraq and short-term trouble for the front-running Howard Dean whose campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination is built around his fervent opposition to the U.S.-led invasion. <snip>

"The fact of the matter is, as (Defense) Secretary (Donald) Rumsfeld said, we still have a long, hard slog to finish the job in Iraq," said Brad Woodhouse, spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. "The capture of Saddam Hussein is not the silver bullet that fixes everything." <snip>

Democratic activist Donna Brazile, campaign manager for Vice President Al Gore in the 2000 election, said it would allow Lieberman, Gephardt, Kerry and Edwards to put their yes votes behind them, but she did not believe it would hamper Dean in the long run. "Now people will start asking 'Where is Osama?"' Brazile said.
<snip>

Campaigning in Florida, Dean congratulated the U.S. troops who nabbed Saddam on Saturday and said the development should "set a new course" for internationalizing Iraqi reconstruction allowing the United States to bring soldiers home.

3. Saddam Hussein was torturing and killing his own people for
years. Even when Rummy shook hands w/ him, he was a evil dictator. The point is why now? Why now did we decide to invade Iraq? Can we say PNAC? There are what, hundreds of dictactors in the world and we zero-in on SH? :wtf:

9. This is what
I have always felt is the #1 reason for the invasion. Getting their hands on the oil #2 reason.

5. Lieberbman is a man who loves to lie
It is the opposite of what Dean has said for 12 months now. Lieberman is totally without honor.

7. This is why we can't let others frame the debate.
And by we I mean all of us who aren't Republicans.

The idea that Dean, or any anti-war person (surely Kucinich is being tarred with this same nonsense) wanted Saddam to remain in power is ludicrous. But there were more than just two choices: waging illegal unprovoked war or doing nothing. Of course, we got to the point we were back in March because too many U.S. governments had financed and support Saddam and sold him all he needed to build weapons of mass destruction.

The photos of Rumsfeld with Saddam should be an important part of the national campaign. Records of what was sold to him and when.

The war was wrong in March and it's been wrong every day since.

The gloating of the repukes was bad enough, but I'll never forgive stupid Joe for using his rare time in the light to bash another democrat. Asshole.

12. If Howard Dean had his way, Osama would be out of power today...
And the threat of terrorism would be diminished around the world, not increased, as is the case in the wake of the Bush/Lieberman actions in Iraq.
