I insist everyone adopt a swing state!!!!!
http://www.moveonpac.org/precinctpartners/signup.html

I signed up because I know Delaware is not a battleground state but Pennsylvania is. I hope that everyone who lives in a state that isn't a swing state signs up and adopts a battleground state!!

Don't know what a Swing State is? Here, let me help you! It's a state that pretty much is too close to call for either Bush or Kerry. Example - I live in Delaware and we're pretty much 99.9999% for Kerry. My friend GOPisEvil lives in Texas and unfortunately they are 99.9999% for Bush. SO instead of wasting our time getting out the vote in states that won't make much of a difference for Bush or Kerry, why not travel to a state where we can make a difference.

Battleground states are:

  • Florida
  • Iowa
  • Michigan
  • Missouri
  • New Hampshire
  • New Mexico
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Washington
  • Wisconsin
  • West Virginia

I picked Pennsylvania because I'm 30 minutes from Philly and in 2000 we mobilized the vote in Philly to help make PA a Gore state (and we did the same thing so the dems could pick up a state house in 2002 with Ed Rendell)

I hope everyone adopts a state. I'm sure for those of you who live light years away from a swing state that they have activities that you can do to help out at home.

1. Zogby added a few more states to the list
Can't remember all of them, but they include Virginia, Colorado and North Carolina!

These were formerly safe Puke states, we're making inroads!

3. FYI - I didn't make that list
I mean, you could help out with these other states that you listed but if you want to sign up with the MoveOn program those are the states they are focusing on.

4. frustration w/WI Kerry effort, lack of state level Kerry web site
Been volunteering for Kerry here in Milwaukee for months on
and off. Still frustrated that Kerry's field office is not
using the net and the web nearly to the extent it could.

People are signing up at http://volunteer.johnkerry.com
but the Official State of WI Field office can not access the
Kerry site to get the phone numbers or e-mail addresses of the volunteers!

The WI field office does not have it's own website - how outrageous,
is that? Weeks ago you could go to http://www.johnkerry.com/wisconsin
to get info on local campaign work. Since Aug 2 that link has
been worthless. I called Kerry's Washington office and was told
that they were sorry, but that the "site changed" - an answer
that is a non answer. The local field coordinators are good albeit
young workers, but they need access to a solid IT infrastructure,
and their own website. They need to be given the freedom to
manage the site on their own.

I don't think it's just a Wisconsin issue, pls correct me if I'm
wrong - show me that your state has it's own web page on
johnkerry.com.

5. Thanks for the info!
I just volunteered for Wisconsin - I live in Chicago - not much of a battle here, but WI isn't far.
