Subject: email this fascist!
Message:
If you haven't already, check out this article in the Boston Pheonix about this guy:

(there's also this thread in LBN)

He protested the torture at Abu Ghraib by dressing as one of the prisoners and standing outside an Army recruitment office.

The cops arrested him and charged him with disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor, and two felony bomb threat charges because he had wires clipped to his fingers (you know, like they did to that prisoner).

Here's what BPD spokesfascist Michael McCarthy had to say about it:

So if Previtera didn’t mention a bomb, what exactly constitutes a bomb threat? "It can be implied, with fingers and wires — especially in a heightened state of alert, as we are," says Officer Michael McCarthy, Boston Police Department spokesman. And McCarthy thinks this is common knowledge, even if the wires are accessories to a costume. "Mr. Previtera should know better. He’s a young adult educated at Boston College from a wealthy suburb. I’m sure he knows wires attached to his fingers, running to a milk crate, would arouse suspicion outside a military recruiters’ office dressed in prisoner’s garb. If he has any questions as to why people think he may’ve had a bomb, then he needs to maybe go back to Boston College to brush up on his public policy. Or at least common sense, but they can’t really teach that there."

Here's Officer McCarthy's email: mailto:McCarthyM.bpd@ci.boston.ma.us

Here's the email I sent:

Officer McCarthy:

I just read what you had to say about the man who was arrested for standing outside the Army Recruitment Center dressed as an Abu Ghraib prisoner. I am afraid you are the one who is lacking in common sense. I have seen the pictures of the incident and only an idiot would suspect that two wires not connected to anything and a see-through milk crate could possibly be a bomb. So either you are a moron or you are a fascist who thinks protesting the Bush administration is a felony. Either way you do not deserve to wear that uniform. Why don't you go back to Germany, you fascist fuck.

Any relation to former Senator Joe McCarthy? You have a lot in common.

1. My e-mail
Vermin

Congratulations. You knelt to a mindless authority and betrayed everything that made our country great. What happened to freedom of expression? What happened to freedom?

Traitors destroyed them. Traitors like George Bush and like you.

History books will celebrate the heroism of a brave young man who stood up against chilling human evil and made art; history books will recognize that excrement like you actively participated in this evil.

For sending this letter, I'll probably be investigated. Congratulations, you vile piece of trash, you coward; you've turned our great country into a land of lies and fear and injustice. Go to hell.

2. My Email to McCarthy
Maybe not extremely biting or witty, but here it is:

Dear Sir;

To bad some of your police powers couldn't be used to stop the torture at Abu Ghraib as well as at
the other prisons in Iraq.

To bad that in the United States we are no longer a free country, as we used to be so proud of.

To bad commonsense in some people's minds is killing people all the way across the world over lies and oil,
and commonsense is no longer protesting criminal acts such as un-provoked wars.

To bad the United States can no longer hold itself up as an example and hope to the rest of the world.

To bad you couldn't see that.
