I got this from a friend....please take appropriate action.
Unfortunately the new E-Voting bill by Clinton has a fatal flaw--it allows exemptions by states which essentially guts its intent.
As a result, Senators should co-sponsor S.1980 and Dashcle should be contacted to provide leadership to Senators on this issue.
I just reposted something another activist wrote on MoveOn's great goals forum about this and once again asked that MoveOn to have a campaign for HR2239 and S.1980. Can people go there and agree and if you can't find it, write a similar thing yourself.

and contact

here is the original post if you can't find it on the forum....and feel free to repost.
Have a Campaign For S1980 and HR2239 Almost every informed person knows at this point knows that the computer scientists are warning the new electronic voting marchines are prone to hacking and errors. National legislation that would require a paper trail for these machines--and therefore allow a recount if there are problems--by THE TIME OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS must pass by May or it will die.
Move On must have a campaign on this NOW! In the Senate S.1980--the exact replica of H2239-- is the logical choice between completing bills because Hillary's new bill would allow for exemptions for states that apply for them therefore gutting the intent.
People can call their legislators about co-sponsoring HR2239 and S.1980 and Senator Daschle--who can provide leadership to get Senators behind S.1980 For talking points and toll free number click here:
