NYC 3/20 Marchers with religious leanings...

or don't have them, but just want to meet some good people.

I knew Madison Ave. Baptist Church years ago and they were with the good guys-- they're 180 degrees away from the Southern Baptists. Ran soup kitchens and homeless programs, fought with the city on services... The kind of Christians who just go about doing God's work, and don't get in your face forcing silly theological points.

Looks like they haven't changed much over the years.

"The World Still Says No to War
March and Rally March 20, 2004 New York City

New York City Peace Friends invite those wishing to participate in the rally and march in New York City on March 20 to gather at the parish house of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 30 East 31st Street, to participate in an interfaith service of prayer for peace starting promptly at 10:30 A.M.

We recommend you arrive by 10:00 if possible. The service is being organized by the Forum of Concerned Religious Leaders, an interfaith peace group that includes Protestants, Catholics, Muslims, and Jews. We hope to arrange for inclusion of a time of silent worship after the manner of Friends in that service.

At 11:00 A.M., following the service, we will walk as a body to the assembly point for religious groups, where Friends intend to hold a time of silent worship in the street prior to the commencement of the rally proper.

NOTE: If you are bringing banners, remember that NYC regulations prohibit wooden supports; use cardboard tubes instead.
