need to write Tom Ambrose/World Net Daily about Ann's smear of Max Cleland
I wrote to them - but they do not admit that their lies are a problem! Of course they are GOP! Tom Ambrose at tambrose@worldnetdaily.com is Ann's "boss" for the article at http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=37189 and says : "Coulter is 100% spot on for calling the Democratic Party members to account for trying to pump him up as a war hero when he was, in fact, just one of many tragic casualties of a war...All of our soldiers are courageous. Nobody has questioned Cleland's courage. What is being questioned is how the socialist spin machine has transformed an accident of war into a feat of heroism in order to further their political agenda. It dishonors all veterans who have INTENTIONALLY laid down their lives to protect others in TRUE acts of heroism." as he ignores the Silver Star for action 4 days earlier, and the fact that Max volunteered for a mission to set up a radio relay station, despite having no reason to do more in Vietnam as his ticket was punched to return home.

He will not even admit that there was GOP spin when Ann took Cleland’s reported comment that he’d “stay awhile. Maybe have a few beers with friends” and made it into “routine noncombat mission where he was about to drink beer with friends”.

And he has no problem with the fact that Stateside one does not jump out of helicopter’s dressed with live grenades while training, making Ann's comment “He could have done that at Fort Dix” yet another lie.

He has Cleland's CO account on what really happened at Khe Sanh - and doesn't care. All he focus on is the fact that Max's lost limbs were not from combat (as Max has written “The battle for Khe Sanh was over, and I had come out of it unhurt and alive! Five terrible days and nights were behind us. In spite of dire predictions, we had held Khe Sanh. I had scored a personal victory over myself and my fears. I had become a soldier and could really look the old sarge in the face. As Stephen Crane put it in his great book on war, The Red Badge of Courage, “I went to face the Great Death and found it was only the Great Death.” My tour of duty in Vietnam was almost over. In another month I’d be going home. I smiled, thinking of the good times waiting stateside. On April 8, 1968, I volunteered for one last mission. The helicopter moved in low. The troops jumped out with M16 rifles in hand as we crouched low to the ground to avoid the helicopter blades. Then I saw the grenade. It was where the chopper had lifted off. It must be mine, I thought. Grenades had fallen off my web gear before. Shifting the M16 to my left hand and holding it behind me, I bent down to pick up the grenade. A blinding explosion threw me backwards."

I do wish Tom showed the same concern for chickenhawk liars like our walk away AWOL Bush, who was too scared of continuing to fly after his “community service in lieu of what ????” that he disobeys the standard "take a flight physical so you can continue flying" request (and you thought you don’t get the option to say no - see how uniformed liberals are!). I wonder if he will ever report on that poorly poorly prepared liar Calhoun who claims National Guard time for Bush during a period that Bush was not assigned to Alabama (Bush’s request for the postal unit was turned down – he was AWOL AT THAT TIME – BUT NOT FROM ALABAMA!)

And the fact our national media does not take Tom and Ann and Worldnet Daily to task is sickening.
