Dover to D.C. Memorial Procession: March 14th-15th
Edited on Wed Feb-04-04 11:25 AM by LynneSin
Dover to D.C. Memorial Procession Interfaith service at 1 p.m. followed by walk to Dover Air Force Base. After a ceremony of remembrance for those killed in Iraq at the entrance to the base, a caravan will proceed to Washington, D.C. with a brief stop in Baltimore, MD. On March 15, people gather at Walter Reed Army Medical Center at 10 a. for a ceremony to honor the wounded. There will be a march to Farragut Square with a short rally at 1 p.m.. Afterwards, there will be a nonviolent direct action of civil disobedience at the White House.

If anyone is in the Dover area, you are welcomed to attend this memorial. I've helped the Pacem in Terris group put together the banner that includes the 500+ names of the soldiers who have died in Iraq so far (unfortunately we have some blank panels incase that list increases  ).

If you would like more information about this gathering, please visit http://www.paceminterris.com/ for details. Hopefully I see some Delaware DUers at both events!!!

Edit Note: for those of you who may not know this, the dead American soldiers are returned from Iraq through Dover Air Force base in Dover, DE. This is not just an event by our Pacem group but we were asked to help organized the Delaware part of the process since we are the largest peace activist group in the state of Delaware.
