St. Thomas More Church and The Knights of Columbus present A Program on the Death Penalty

St. Thomas More Church, Madison Avenue, Convent Station February 17, 2004 7:30 -9:30pm

The Church of St. Thomas More and The John H. Feenan Council No. 7537, Knights of Columbus present A Program on the Death Penalty featuring speakers who will discuss the death penalty, its effect on the loved ones of murder victims and New Jersey's risk of executing innocent people:

Lorry Post of Cape May, who lost his daughter to murder. Lorry is the former Executive Director of New Jerseyans for a Death Penalty Moratorium, a statewide group seeking a suspension of executions pending a thorough examination of New Jersey's death penalty. He is also the New Jersey Coordinator of Murder Victims' Families for Reconciliation.

Ray Krone, the 100th innocent American freed from death row. Krone, 45, was a neighborhood mail carrier, never accused of a crime prior to the 1991 murder of Kim Ancona. He walked out of Arizona State Prison 10 years later, hours after DNA tests vindicated him and implicated Kenneth Phillips, currently imprisoned for an unrelated sex crime, as the rapist/murderer. Krone now lives in Pennsylvania near his parents, who, for a decade, fought to prove his innocence.

The program is free and open to the public.
