DUers: Help Me Kick GW's Butt...

It is my pleasure to announce that my "Do you Know?" website is up and running as of today.

I started "Do You Know?" because I felt there was a gap in the availability of information for folks who are still laboring under the impression that GW is a man of integrity doing good things, for the folks whose minds MIGHT be changed if they were to know the whole story on Jr. The site is dedicated to exposing Bush & his policies in a multitude of areas. It is nonpartisan and noninflammatory in nature. Instead, it relies on presenting the facts surrounding this administration in a journalistic voice, complete with up-to-date attributions.

In other words, is a perfect site for the "mushy middle" and those friends and family members you wouldn't dream of introducing to DU, but who might be moved by a less intense, less partisan presentation on GW. :)

The first 60 entries are up, with biweekly updates of new material going up through the 2004 election. There is a monthly newsletter that folks can subscribe to that will include update highlights.

What you can do to help:

1) Recommend the website to as many people as you can. Include it as part of your email signature. If you have your own site, perhaps you can host a link.

2) Put a "DoYouKnow.org" bumpersticker on your vehicle. They are free and I should have them available for mailing in a few weeks.

3) Carry and pass out "DoYouKnow.org" business cards. They are also free and I should have them available for mailing in a few weeks.

4) Recommend an entry you want to see added. The site is still being tweaked, but there will soon be a "submit an entry" form for folks to use. In the meantime, if there is something you want to see added, just PM me with an article excerpt covering the thrust of the story and a link to the original work. There are only 60 on the site to start with and SOOO many to choose from. I have hundreds more to be added over time, but please don't assume I know about everything that has been going on -- I am only one person and have probably missed many, many important issues that need to be exposed.

5) If you're feeling particularly inspired, I could use folks to underwrite the purchase of stock photographs that the website designer and I would like to include on various pages. We feel the impact of the entries could be enhanced by the inclusion of powerful images. Right now, all work on the site is being donated by kind friends and the costs are being covered by me, but sometimes a little additional help would be lovely.

6) Help me keep this thread bumped.

It is going to be a v-e-r-y long year until the election. There is much work to do and many minds to be changed.

There is a great poem by Emily Dickenson:

In 2004, if I can help change just one mind about voting for George W. Bush....
