That is what strikes me first about this. Not that I am advocating dropping the dramatic, but if you've seen any so-called repubbie "demonstrations," the geeks are always wearing their white shirts and ties, or their ear-flap hats and jeans.
They don't understand the costumes, and to a small-minded republican (call the Department of Redundancy Department!) it makes the protesters out to be exactly what they think we are...crazy people.
Many/most of the costumes have "issues" behind them, but we cannot even get a republican to read/understand a real newspaper article. How are they to discern what the hell the lady in the pic above is doing? Just another fruity nutcake.
They are all about conformity, remember. Everyone should be exactly the same if you want a perfect world. Nothing to question. This style of protest, I fear, simply plays into every one of the right wing's stereotypes about "us."
But really, so the hell what, right?
War is hell. If nothing else, we should give ol' Ned Flanders and his ilk something to have nightmares about.
