The Activist Milestones — Developing the Skills to Become a Trained Citizen Activist

The activist milestones are meant to be used as a step-by-step guide for you to introduce new volunteers and other community activists to the concrete actions they can take to hone and develop their skills as effective citizen activists.

Taking these actions one by one builds a solid advocacy foundation for your group, and breaks down what is often an incredibly overwhelming amount of information RESULTS activists feel they need to learn in a short amount of time.

These links and the RESULTS Activists Toolkit (sent to all RESULTS groups as a part of the Group Leader Handbook) will allow activists to mark their progress as they move through the milestones and give group leaders the roadmap they need to facilitate skills training in their new groups and new volunteers.

1. A grassroots environmental group I was with '91-'95 used to work with RESULTS. Glad to see them
out there in the trenches still. Some of them got pretty discouraged when "Welfare Reform" was enacted by Congress & Bill Clinton.

..........................

It's good to see a very concrete step-wise stretegic process defined this way. This is one of the most important things missing from "activism".
