Heated Iraq War Protest At Crosses In Lafayette (CA)
Mar 8, 2007 12:50 pm US/Pacific

Anna Duckworth
Reporting

(CBS 5) LAFAYETTE The tension was obvious Thursday morning as anti-war activists gathered among over 3,000 crosses on a hill near the Lafayette BART station.

It was a rally and counter rally in front of the crosses, with people on both sides of the war in Iraq ...

"The idea is to keep any more from being dead," said protestor Eric Beckyard. "We want to stop the killing, and the best way to get out of a bad poker game is to walk out the door." ...

3. Yes, Lafayette
Gladdened my heart the first time I saw it while taking BART in an eastward direction. No, I wasn't glad as in gleeful, as in, I just hate *sh so much I want him to fail, as our critics would say of us. No, nobody who hates *sh is gleeful about the Iraq war, nobody. My heart was gladdened, because, as I say, the further East you travel from the Bay Area, the higher the Conservative quotient usually goes.

6. Interesting
that the counter-rally would call themselves, "Move America Forward", though. Since when is a Conservative interested in any sort of forward progression? And it's oddly similar to "Move On".
