Take Back America Conference....Anybody Going?
I'd LOVE to, but my sked won't allow it. Hopefully CSPAN will again air some of it: http://home.ourfuture.org/tba06/about.html

IT'S OUR TIME. Time for new vision, new ideas, new energy.

The Take Back America conference brings together thousands of progressive activists, thinkers and leaders to discuss the ideas, hone the message, train the organizers, and build the infrastructure we need. This conference will focus on the way forward:

MAKE THIS ECONOMY WORK FOR WORKING PEOPLE
Create good jobs, and high road development plans for U.S. communities.

A REAL SECURITY AGENDA FOR AMERICA
Take on the growing global threats, restore America's leadership, and make our country safe.

A BOLD APOLLO PLAN FOR NEW ENERGY AND JOBS
Shepherd our common assets by investing in conservation, sustainable jobs, healthy cities.

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL
Build a health system that assures coverage for all while helping employers.

CLEAN UP GOVERNMENT AND ELECTIONS
Curb corporate lobbies and money—so politicians work for us.

BUILD THE GULF ANEW & FIGHT POVERTY EVERYWHERE
A Federal Reconstruction Corps to put people to work rebuilding their communitiesand direct action to move Americans out of poverty.

RETIREMENT SECURITY FOR OLD AND YOUNG
Strengthen Social Security and pensions. A simple Medicare drug plan that lowers prices.

INVEST IN KIDS, REVIVE OUR SCHOOLS
From pre-K to higher education: Good schools and affordable college.

A NEW MOTHERHOOD MANIFESTO
Develop a family policy to support caregivers, make work flexible, give children a smart start.

Join the Campaign for America's Future at Take Back America 2006!

The Take Back America Conference is a catalyst for building the infrastructure to ensure that the voice of the progressive majority is heard. Take Back America always attracts the nation's most prominent progressive leaders. Last year's speakers included Howard Dean, Antonio Villaraigosa, John Edwards, Jesse Jackson, Arianna Huffington and Bill Moyers, among others, and this year's lineup promises to be even better. Already the largest progressive gathering ever year, the Campaign for America's Future Take Back America Conference will be bigger than ever in 2006!

1. I Think I Can Fit It Into "Some" Schedule... It's the Cost That Is
going to be a problem. I would LOVE to get together with a few others from my area and share room costs. I'm down in Nokomis, FL.

If there will be no People's March and this is the BEST I can do, I'm in if I can swing the price.

Any takers, please PM me, or just reply here. I NEED some action, but there's no way I can without some help. I would need to book a flight from Florida and go from there... but I WANT TO BE IN!

Need some fellow Dems, or Independents or even "R's" who might be willing to share with me!

I would rather MARCH though!

2. I heard that. My schedule is clear since I can't work in the Bu$hitler
economy. Any philanthropists out there? PM ME.

7. Correction Here.... I Just Re-Checked The Date... Thought It Was
in July, not June. My daughter is leaving on vacation June 8th for 2 weeks and I'm committed to watching her dog & house. Guess I just got excited about SOMETHING happening and jumped the gun. Meanwhile, she and her family are going to be enjoying themselves in Costa Rica!

What a BUMMER! I am so anxious to DO SOMETHING! I'll be open after 6-22 and won't make other plans! We need some action before the '06 elections, we really do.

DADGUMMIT! Sounds like something I would have REALLY REALLY been able to sink my teeth into!

5. If a couple of financial things fall in line before then, I'll be there.
And I'll try to drag John Russell, and couple more of our staff up there also.

6. Went to part of it last year
and thought it was so worthwhile that it became part of my budget so I'm able to go for the entire conference this year. Anyone who can do it, should. It is worth a sacrifice of one sort or another. For me, living in a red state, it is such an uplifiting experience.
