350 minimum protesting W in Richfield, Ohio
at the corner of 303 & 176 (Streetsboro Road and Broadview), the Square.

there were a handful of W supporters, one fun one especially who talked about our morals and then gave us the finger.

A group of kids with their mother started shouting "We love Bush!" I kept shouting back "WHY?"

Got to meet Sherrod Brown, who sent a personal letter thanking me for a letter to the editor a few months back. Like any politician, he claims he remembers my name from the letter. Well, maybe he might. I got to express my appreciation personally.

It was an ugly day, raining.

Had a charter busload of Postal Union employees show up from Cleveland.

It felt great to be there, but there were a few "true believers", like the woman who kept saying that we were all about money (never mind that Jeff Seemen, with the bullhorn and announcing his run against Ralph Regula made many different announcements). She was closeminded, totally. I have her on video saying she prays for Bush. I told her I pray for Bush also, for his enlightenment. She feels that a BJ was more of a ruination to this country than a war.

2. Mother-in-law informed me local news brief said 500+ protesting
Way to go!

She also saw me in a pan of the crowd. Said I was saying something, but she couldn't hear what. (BTW, it was "Every day without weapons of mass destruction is proving the French right!")

3. Ohio News Network claims over a thousand or thousands
yet they had a close shot of a crowd, doesn't look much more than ours.

Not very much scanning over the crowd. Saw a few hands in the air (at the bottom of the screen) in the clip where W "braved the rain" to get in front of the crowd.

Gotta keep those numbers up.

5. You made us proud.
I would love to see that old guy's face when his son would come home in a body bag.

6. congratulations
for the crowd of 350-500 in Ohio!
St. Louis had about 350 protesters the other day in 104 degree sweltering heat and Ohio had 350-500 during a rainstorm. One wonders what the (Sept. 4) Kansas City protest number will be.
The weather forecast (finally) looks ideal, so we should be able to double that number!

(p.s. As a parent, I could not wish the heartbreak of a son being killed upon anyone.)

8. zbdent didn't really mean that
...but there was a father/son team of Bushies across the street, and the father wouldn't answer us when we asked if he'd send his son to fight in Iraq (the kid was maybe 16).

But I swear the kid was going to have a stroke when I used the bullhorn to announce the French were right.

9. Saw the article today
and, ironically, the kid is 16 and is visiting from Illinois.

Funny, when contrasted with middle-finger-lady went on TV and said that all those people protesting were from out of town and not welcome.
