Students Protest Cuts in Parlier (High - J High / CA)
March 11, 2005 — 200 students from Parlier High and Junior High walked out of class on Friday. At issue was the district's plan to give out 49 teacher layoff notices.

Thursday night at the school board meeting, Parlier Unified officals shocked students by announcing some major cuts.

Friday morning around 10:00am, the students decided to react. <snip>

High school student Angelica Juarez spoke about why they walked out. "We decided to walk out at break because it was the only time we had come and to voice our opinion, so we decided to do it." <snip>
