DU CALL TO ACTION: State voting reform efforts
I NEED YOUR HELP:

I am starting details on a ballot initiative here in Ohio for reform of our voting system/methods, and I need some help with the research. I would be extremely greatful for any information towards the following:

1.) What is the actual cost of a paper trail for all voting machines? I need links and as offical links as possible.

2.) What are the reasons that people refuse to implement necessary reforms (paper trail, ect)?

3.) Every state that allows direct initiatives for amending their state constitution, if you know the petition requirement please list that.

4.) Finally and most importantly, I need volunteers in Central Ohio first to help this get off the ground as a grassroots effort. I will be more forthcoming with my plans by early next week. I am waiting for some coorespondence to come back from an expert that I know.

Please feel free to PM me if you are willing to volunteer, hopefully if our efforts are successful in Central OH we will extend across the state and eventually to all other states with a direct initiative process.

2. With petitions consisting of 10% of the amount that voted in the last
Governor election, you can bi-pass the legislature with a direct ballot initiative. With 5% you can force the state to vote on it or refuse it, if they vote and it passes...it is on the ballot, otherwise you just need 5 more percent.

8. Okay...well I am extremely serious about this, so any help you can
give would be great. Maybe if I work out a link to a website eventually Stephanie would be interested in posting it and helping out anyway she can? I would really like all the exposure that is possible.

If you don't think it will ever work, I don't want to be the guy that thinks his ideas are so great and in reality he is clueless...

6. What Abolt Florida????
We need to Protest Florida Too! Jeb-Ass was on TV this A.M. talking about how they were having TROUBLE with Absentee Ballots getting jammed! He was the one calling to Vote Absentee in the first place! I wonder WHY????

And get this, AFTER the initiative voting DOWN No Casinos, somehow they found 70,0000 votes and NOW the Referendum PASSED! Ain't that FUNNY!

They say they can't check "touch screen" votes, but they can find enough votes to pass THIS!!

Personally, I'm about ready to legislate against having a sitting President's Governor letting HIS state vote in a National Election! This is twice we've had FUNNY BIDNEZZ!@!

7. It would be great to do this nationwide where we can
Florida is a state that we CAN indeed go about this process. We need for FL 8% of the total votes cast in the state in the last election for president. Which according to my calculations is 600,618 signed petitions. This of course is a large number, larger than what we will face in places like Ohio...but of course it can be done. If you would like to help take this process nationwide I can use your help. Please PM me, and help gather other individuals across FL that can help you gather petitions. I might be setting up a website for all of us to organize, and hopefully fundraise a small amount of money for us all to offset administrative costs.

The following states all have a direct initiative process:

AZ, AR, CA, CO, FL, IL, MA, MI, MS, MO, MN, NE, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD

Anyone from those states we need your help.

9. Where Do You Live???
Since I'm pretty new to DU, I presume PM means to write you back. I've heard so many different stories on what is going on here in Florida and have no idea what the REAL TRUTH is. What we were told on election day DOESN'T seem to be the TRUTH no matter what!

Also, what does n/t mean and BBV? sory to be so stupid, but I keep seeing it come up.

Let me know what you are planning. My daughter an I want to go to Washington D.C. to Protest also. We may have a few other people to come along with us. I've been checking with all the places that are organizing.

12. Speaking of BBV
Has anyone thought about collecting a large sum of money and offering it to anyone who has hard evidence that this election was tampered with? My guess is that anyone seedy enough to help steal an election would just as soon sell out their secrets for a wad of cash. Soros? Where are ya buddy?

10. There are already bills for paper trails. You do not need to start from
scratch. Get petitions is support of Senate bill S1980 and House bill HR2239. They are currently stalled in committee. We can kick them loose. Visit <http://www.independentmediasource.com/evotingfraud_legislation.htm>

13. Will Check This Out
I have this on my Favorites List, but haven't seen this legislation. Everyone needs to write to Terry McAuliffe via TRUTHOUT from yesterday. McAuliffe sent out a questionnaire about what you did during this election. There are about 5 boxes to fill out and in each one... I asked WHY ARE WE FIGHTING BACK. The Democratic National Committee I mean. Asked him What's up because I got an email from someone telling me that Kerry was just a "Plant!" and wasn't supposed to win the Election. I was floored, but since I see no action, I decided to ask. Everyone, please ask the question. I DON'T think Kerry was a Plant, I think the election was Rigged! But where is the DNC????
